How hurricanes named?


They are not named randomly, but well defined. In West Indies, names were given for hurricanes as per the name of saint of the day, in which hurricane hit.

The Australian meteorologist, by 1900s introduced a new system of naming hurricanes after women’s name and US followed it later.

Even before the hit of storm, the World Meteorological Organization prepare a list of names. Six lists which contains 21 names each, avoiding names starting with letters Q, U, X, Y & Z. So we see the upcoming storms named in alphabetical order and with nice human names.
